The 24 Ngerengere Villages Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Project Preparation aims to support the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in preparing a bankable, climate-resilient water and sanitation investment for drought-prone rural areas in Morogoro Region. The total cost of the project preparation amounts to EUR 1.06 million. It is financed through a grant of EUR 600,000 from the African Water Facility (AWF), administered by the African Development Bank, complemented by a counterpart contribution of EUR 461,000 from the Government of Tanzania. The project is implemented by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) on behalf of the Ministry of Water, and focuses on feasibility studies, detailed designs, environmental and social impact assessments, and investment planning to enable downstream financing.
