The present operation concerns a grant of 15 million UC under Pillar I of the FAT to the International Committee of the Red Cross to support women and communities affected by the conflict in Sudan. This operation aims to implement a gender-sensitive approach to address the urgent needs of the population affected by the food crisis through emergency food distribution, while ensuring long-term sustainability and climate resilience by improving agricultural productivity and promoting the local economy. This project comes at a time when Sudan is facing the world's largest displacement crisis, with more than 13 million displaced people. The intervention will restore basic health and social services in conflict areas, focusing on the needs of women, their dependents, and survivors of sexual violence. It will also promote sustainable recovery through agricultural productivity, capacity building, and economic empowerment. Ultimately, the project will restore water and health infrastructure for 1.5 million people and improve access to essential services, particularly for women and children.
