Omnicane Limited is engaged in the sugarcane industry. Its primary activity consists in the cultivation of sugarcane and the production of refined sugar, bioethanol, thermal energy, and electricity. Its agricultural operations are carried out in two main regions, Mon Tresor and Britannia. Its refinery produces around 200,000 tons of refined white sugar annually from raw sugar. Its cogeneration power plants at La Baraque generate steam and electricity for the cluster and export electricity to the national grid. Its bioethanol distillery can produce up to 24 million liters of bioethanol a year depending on the volume of molasses processed. The bioethanol can be used in pharmaceutical and industrial products and a source of biofuel in transportation and power production.
