Business Description
REA Vipingo Plantations Limited is a Kenya-based holding company. The Company is engaged in the cultivation of sisal and the production of sisal fiber. The principal businesses of the subsidiary companies comprise the cultivation and production of sisal and horticultural produce, manufacture of sisal yarns and twines, sisal export and commission agent. The Company offers African sisal, which is produced on organized estates and is properly brushed and graded, which is used in carpets and matting construction and plaster enforcement, specialty pulp, polishing cloth, twines and ropes, handicrafts, and dartboards. It operates approximately five sisal estates with two located in Kenya, namely the Dwa Estate and Vipingo Estate, and The Amboni estates. The Amboni estates comprise three separate properties, namely the Mwera, Sakura and Kigombe estates, situated south of Tanga on the Tanzanian coast.
