Tunisia - Classified road network modernization program - Phase 3

The project is designed to promote inclusive growth by improving the quality of the road network, mainly in Tunisia's interior regions. The rehabilitation and maintenance of these infrastructures will contribute to promoting the private sector and local SMEs, as well as creating jobs for young people. It also intends to continue supporting micro-businesses in road maintenance, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the infrastructure and at the same time creating market opportunities for entrepreneurs. This operation will also improve access to regions with high agricultural added value, thus contributing to Tunisia's food security, thanks in particular to the development of value chains supported by the private sector. This project primely contributes towards climate adaptation result. As such 17% of the total approval is attributed as climate finance.
