The project is aligned to NDP-9 as it aims to directly support the plan’s pillar on economic development that places emphasis on employment. The strategic thrust is its emphasis on improving TVET infrastructure, building TVET system with a strong linkage with the labour market and improved coordination and governance. Thus, the Project seeks to reduce youth unemployment through strengthening technical and vocational skills development in order to enhance employability and contribute to inclusive green growth. The Bank’s intervention will contribute to addressing the funding gaps for TVET and reviving the TVET system which is critical for labour productivity and job creation. The Project has three components, namely: (i) Component 1 – Equitable Access to Quality TVET, (ii) Component 2- Entrepreneurship Development and (iii) Component 3 – Project Management. The total cost is estimated at UA 6.21 million. The project primarily contributes to climate adaptation results. As such, 40% of the total approved amount is attributed as climate finance, of which 3.5 million USD is dedicated to adaptation.
