The Dakar-Tivaouane-St. Louis Highway Project addresses the challenges of territorial connectivity and development of economic, mining, tourism and agricultural potential. This project appears in the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE)’s Adjusted and Accelerated Priority Action Plan (PAP 2A 2019-2023), the reference framework for the country's economic and social policy over the mid- and long-term and is also aligned with the operations of Senegal’s technical and financial partners. It will be implemented over five (5) years and is structured around the following three (3) components: (i) Highway construction, including road structures, (ii) Integrated Facilities and Measures, (iii) Project Institutional Support and Management. The total project cost, including physical and financial contingencies, is estimated at UA 904.25 million, i.e., EUR 1139.24 million. The project primarily contributes to climate adaptation results. As such, 15% of the total approved amount is attributed as climate finance, of which 25 million USD is dedicated to adaptation.
