Central African Republic - Support Program for the Reconstruction of Basic Communities, Phase 2 (PARCB-2)

This intervention concerns the Support Program for the Reconstruction of Basic Communities, Phase 2 (PARCB-2). The programme is designed to follow up on the upstream demobilization and disarmament actions undertaken by the Government with a view to stabilizing the population, improving the incomes and living conditions of the populations affected by the politico-military crisis through the restoration of social cohesion and living together. The programme aims to strengthen the achievements of PARCB-1 and PARCB-1 Additional operations in the areas already covered and to extend it to the interior of the country on the one hand, and to promote employment and the development of entrepreneurship through agropastoral activities (poultry farming, fish farming, beekeeping, dairy production, etc.), artisanal mining and strengthening the community reintegration process on the other hand. PARCB-2 will be based on the following three (3) components: (i) Support the revival of resilient socio-economic activities, stabilisation and social cohesion; (ii) Build institutional and beneficiary capacity; and (iii) Programme management. The project contributes to climate finance, with 8 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
