Resilience, Food and Nutrition Security Support Project in Kemo and Ouaka Prefectures (PARSANKO) — Central African Republic

Central African Republic · Kemo and Ouaka prefectures · Agriculture and rural development

Overview

The Resilience, Food and Nutrition Security Support Project in Kemo and Ouaka Prefectures (PARSANKO) aims to strengthen agropastoral production, rural incomes and food and nutrition security in two prefectures of the Central African Republic. It supports national recovery and peace-consolidation priorities and targets vulnerable rural households, farmers, livestock producers, young people and women entrepreneurs.

PARSANKO combines support for agropastoral production, productive infrastructure, community initiatives, access to production inputs and rural entrepreneurship. Target value chains include maize, cassava, groundnuts, paddy rice, sesame, cowpea and market gardening, alongside poultry, pig and small-ruminant production.

Approved on 25 January 2021, the project remains under implementation. African Development Bank activity data show a planned closing date of 30 June 2027. An implementation report was published in June 2026 and an updated procurement plan in April 2026.
