Description

The proposed operation is an AfDB loan of UA 97 million, or the equivalent of EUR 120 million, to the Kingdom of Morocco to finance the Inclusive Access to Health Infrastructure Support Programme (PAAIIS). This programme is the Bank’s third health sector operation in Morocco that uses a results-based financing instrument. It is based on an integrated and inclusive approach to the development of social policies to improve the living conditions of vulnerable segments of the population, particularly women and the inhabitants of landlocked areas, through increased access to quality health services. The programme will also help to reduce disparities in access to health care facilities through better connectivity with innovative solutions and better allocation of human resources. Lastly, it will help to consolidate the experiences acquired in the use of this new financing tool. PAAIIS will span four fiscal years (2023-2026). The project contributes to climate finance, with 19 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to mitigation.
