Description

The project will support the expansion of electricity access that would contribute to improved quality of life of the population, promote business activities and job creation for women & youth, reduce environmental degradation, thereby fulfilling the overall economic growth in the project targeted areas. The project will also contribute to reduction in greenhouse gas emissions associated with fossil fuel-based power plants, and losses associated with overloaded power transmission lines. The total costs for the project components as established by the Executing Agency in line with the project feasibility study, net of taxes and duties, are estimated as USD 119.00 million. The project cost, excluding implementation of ESMP & RAP, is USD 97.00million. AfDB and EDCF financing will not cover the duties and taxes.
