Description

The Support to Higher Education Science and Technology Project – Phase II (HEST II) is financed by the African Development Fund (ADF) through a loan of UA 55.16 million (approximately USD 82.36 million equivalent total project cost of UA 63.16 million), with a counterpart contribution of UA 8 million from the Government of Kenya. The project supports the modernization and expansion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education infrastructure and systems across public universities in Kenya. It builds on the achievements of HEST Phase I and focuses on strengthening engineering centres of excellence, equipping additional universities, operationalizing a Science and Technology Park, aligning curricula with labour market needs, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
