Description

The project is an additional financing to Savannah Investment Program (SIP) for Building Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security in the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana. The Savannah Investment Program (SIP) is the base Project for the Additional Financing. The overall goal of the Program is to reduce importation of animal protein, enhance competitiveness of the poultry industry, improve small ruminants breeds and contribute to improved food and nutrition security. The project has four main components, namely: i) climate resilient agricultural production for women and youth; ii) women and youth participation in poultry production; iii) sustainable value chain development; and iv) project management and institutional support. The project contributes to climate finance, with 10 million USD of the total approved amount dedicated to adaptation.
