Description

The project builds on the Ethiopian government’s new national implementation framework for the WASH program (WIF), which aims to support the government’s efforts to improve access to sustainable and climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services, and to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water and sanitation in both urban and rural areas of Ethiopia by 2030. This project is financed by the AWF to support countries in the region spanning the Sahel to the Horn of Africa, which have been affected by COVID-19 and climate change. The project contributes to climate finance, with an allocation of USD 3 million from the total approved amount dedicated to climate adaptation.
