Description

The Climate Resilience Strengthening and Agricultural Risk Management Project in Benin, which we designate under the acronym PReRAB, constitutes a strategic sustainable agricultural development initiative approved in July 2025 by the African Development Bank. This pioneering project aims to transform Benin's agricultural landscape by equipping approximately 150,000 smallholder farmers in the Alibori and Atakora regions with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive amid mounting climate challenges. The initiative represents a proactive approach to strengthening climate resilience and securing the livelihoods of subsistence farmers in a context where agriculture constitutes the backbone of Benin's economy, employing seven out of ten people and representing a vital sector for national food security.
