Angola - Cabinda Province Agriculture Value Chains Development Project

The Agricultural Values Development Project in Cabinda Province (CPAVCDP) was designed to enhance investments in agricultural processing through value chains of agricultural products to diversify exports, reduce imports through value chains, increase domestic revenue sources and reduce dependency on oil. It provides for the development of production, conservation, storage, processing and marketing infrastructure in a number of agricultural value chains: food crops (cassava, banana, sweet potato, groundnuts and beans); industrial crops (coffee, cocoa and oil palm); marine and inland fisheries; small ruminants; and horticulture (vegetables and fruits). The project also includes the renovation of water supply structures for irrigation, the training of value chain actors in technical and managerial skills, the introduction of mechanization for land preparation, support for adaptive research and improvement of agricultural extension services. It will allow the rehabilitation or construction of rural infrastructure, such as access roads connecting production areas to markets, agro-processing centers, trading centers, community health centers, primary schools and community drinking water facilities, while facilitating access to energy in rural areas. The CPAVCDP project has three components, including: (i) development of agricultural value chains; (ii) infrastructure development; and (iii) project management, monitoring and evaluation.
